don't judge me, I just woke up

Last nite, I cast on for the last of the baby sweaters. It's the Ribbed Jacket, from my favorite baby knits book, Special Knits. This one will be for my friend Sally, who is adopting a child in december. They don't know the age of their little girl yet, so I decided to make the 12-24 month size. The little girl pictured here is Abigail. She's almost 5 months old, and teething. She enjoys playing with my yarn tails while I knit.

Hi Nancy,

I am new to knitting and I am also trying to knit this ribbed jacket for my friend's daughter; however I am having a bit of problem reading the instruction and hoping you could help me.

I am currently stuck on shaping the sleeves. It says states:

cast on 5 sts at beg of next 8 rows.
84 sts.
work a further 16 rows.

does that mean I am suppose to increase 5 stitches at the beginning and knit a total of 84 stiches for the next 8 rows?

Thanks
Sharon
