Clapotis the Second

something's done!

Finally, some visible progress with my knitting! I have been stuck in a sea of mindless basketweave for the baby blanket, and though I keep knitting, there is not much to show for it. A second clapotis has been my background project for a long while, and it's done!

My last clapotis was knit while on the beach in Maine last summer, as my fiancee's mom looked on and commented on how beautiful it was. Her colors are more blues, the New England color scheme, so the Georgetown colorway seemed to suit her best.

As always, Abby is a willing bichon model. She will be driving (riding, really) across the state and up to Maine this thursday. We're going to visit Cary's family, and Abby will be making the 13 hour trip with us. She's always been a good girl in the car-- from the day we got her she's spent at least 30 minutes a day driving. Driving time=nap time for my little girl.

A long car trip means I need to pack lots of knitting! Of course I'll be bringing the blanket, and probably a scarf that I haven't worked on in months. But I am thinking of starting something new, maybe a hat...

the second time around

While in Maine with my boyfriend's family this summer, I was working a bunch on my clapotis. Cary's mom really liked it, especially the dropped stitches part, so I decided to make her one. The colors in the photo don't really match the real thing.. it's much more vibrant and less Easter-eggy. I'm using Lorna's Laces Lion & Lamb in Georgetown. It's super soft, warm and snuggly.
